2016 might have been a wretched year for majority of the world, however Tata Motors started its journey of reckoning this year and it seems, things will only get intense this coming year. Tata Motors have just announced the launch date of the Tata Xenon Yodha as January 3. Interestingly, the Xenon Yodha will be the company’s first launch of 2017 and its name clearly suggests that Tata is ready to make a kill again in the Indian market. Looking more like a thorough facelift of the present Xenon, the Yodha gets new styling touches and there should be equipments revisions certainly as well.
With the slowly increasing interest in the Pick-Up segment in India, we reckon the update Xenon Yodha would make a stronger mark (compared to the old car) in the nascent segment. Expect new and more up-market upholstery and trim along with an addition of infotainment system to the car’s interior. On the outside, you will get a new design for the grille, restyled fog-lamps and new set of muscular looking wheels. Expect better ergonomics and more utilitarian updates to the car as well.
We expect the Xenon Yodha to arrive as both, single and double cab variants. The present car is powered by the mammoth turbocharged 3.0-litre diesel unit capable of churning out 96.51bhp and decent 223Nm of peak torque. The other engine option on the present car is a more powerful version of the same turbocharged 3.0-litre diesel making 113.94bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. We might see a surprise arrival of a smaller capacity engine on the car as well while, we would love to have a bigger Revotron Petrol unit on it as well, but it is certainly not going to happen. Stay tuned for more updates on the same.
