2018 Mercedes GLA Facelift Unveiled, Gets more Glitz

Only recently we shared the spied images of the Mercedes GLA Facelift undergoing testing. Now the car has finally broken cover and as expected Mercedes has tried to keep the car fresh with this minor facelift. The present GLA-Class arrived just three years ago and has been a pretty successful product for the company, if not the prettiest of the Merc’s out there. Since the car is comparatively new and pretty good sale hit, the facelift has arrived with minimal changes.

The 2018 Mercedes GLA facelift gets a new front and rear bumper designs while the GLA250 has been given round and protruding fog lights. This time around the AMG appearance package gets larger air intakes which are off course fake. For the real deal you will have to get yourself the top of the line Mercedes-AMG GLA45 which gets new design to its very real air intakes and a silver bar below those inlets is much sleeker than before. LEDs take place of the optional bixenon headlight in the facelifted GLA.

As for the interiors, the facelifted GLA gets a center-mounted 8.0-inch information display which is now standard. On the facelifted AMG variant there is red contrast stitching and sportier trim. The rear view camera with 360 degree view is now standard fitment and so it the proximity entry and keyless ignition with the optional Premium package, and the Smartphone Integration package which is now Android Auto compatible while Apple CarPlay was already available. You will also get a power rear hatch; this can be now opened or closed via a foot-motion sensor.

The engine options for the US market will be all petrol with a carryover 208bhp turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four making 350Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 7-Speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Front-wheel drive continues to be offered as standard while 4MATIC all-wheel drive is optional. On the other hand, the top-of-the-line Mercedes-AMG GLA45, gets vastly more powerful AMG-developed engines that makes 375bhp and 475Nm of torque. The AMG variant gets AWD as standard. We reckon the pricing would not see much difference as compared to the present car. Expect the Indian launch of the 2018 Mercedes GLA Facelift to happen around later part of 2017.
