Bentley Bentayga, is an SUV offering only the petrol version. Bentley Bentayga is available in 6 colours, namely, Big Skies, Blue Ice, Heatwave, Molten Bronze, Red Mist and Stonecutter. The Bentayga is the first ever SUV built by Bentley, the British luxury car manufacturer. It was first introduced as a concept car back in 2012 under the name EXP 9 F. The SUV was formally introduced as the Bentayga at the Frankfurt International Auto Show in 2015.
The Bentayga is a soft-roader SUV. It gets a unique mix of creases and curves that mask the size of this massive SUV at the first glance. While it is developed on the Volkswagen group's MLB platform, the Bentayga shares almost nothing other than the underpinnings with the Q7, the Cayenne and the Touareg. The front fascia is signature Bentley with the twin round headlamps and a large rectangular mesh grille in the centre. The tail is rather simple looking with the horizontal LED tail lamps and twin rectangular exhausts.
INTERIOR & FEATURES
The interior is luxurious and gets a wooden veneer with metal inlays along with the leather upholstery. You can choose from 15 colours for your upholstery and get the cabin done in single or dual tone as per your choice. The seats are 22-way adjustable in the front and the car can be ordered with a four or five-seat configuration. The front seats get six types of massagers and are ventilated. Of course, the massagers can be opted for in the back where most Indian buyers are expected to spend their time in the car.
The new twin-turbocharged massive 6.0-litre W12 TSI petrol mill develops 600bhp at 6000rpm and 900Nm of torque from as low as 1250rpm. The power is delivered to all four wheels (40:60 front-rear-torque split) through the eight-speed automatic gearbox. To improve efficiency, the Bentley gets active cylinder management where only six cylinders work under part load, start-stop technology and coasting. A hybrid powertrain is expected to make it to the SUV by 2017 and a diesel mill will be offered by 2018.
The 5950 cc Petrol - powered variant delivers a fuel economy of 8 kmpl in city and 10 kmpl on highways.
