It comes in 7 colours, namely, Caspian Blue, Cosmic White metallic, Electric Silver, Ember Black Metallic, Flamenco Red Metallic, Silver Metallic and Vibrant Copper Metallic. The car is laden with exciting design, new technology and a range of innovative safety features. Available in a diesel engine, the S60 sedan was the world's first car to feature Pedestrian Detection system which detects people walking in front of car. Compared to the previous model, the 2014 S60 features wider grille that accommodates pronounced Volvo badge, flanked by sleeker head lamps with integrated daytime running LEDs. The DRLs are positioned on the new bumper that sport the new black and chrome inserts. On sides, the vehicle looks athletic with scoured roofline and robust shoulder line that gives its tail a curvy shape. INTERIOR & FEATURES
The automobile is considered one of the most elite and cavernous cars in its league. The user friendly designed front and rear seats have side supports and padding, while the driver’s seat sports step-less lumbar support. Electronic climate control with built-in cabin filter to prevent dust, pollen and exhaust particles are some other add-ons. It’s three spoke steering wheel is covered in leather and features audio controls and paddle shifters. The new model also gets new multimedia system, a seven-inch touchscreen and new TFT instrument panel with three modes. The vehicle sports a high performance audio system with DVD and 8 speakers.
The car has two diesel engine options - 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre. The former is capable of producing 181bhp of power at 4250rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1750rpm, while the 2.4L unit is good for 215bhp of power at 4000rpm and 440Nm of torque at 1500rpm. While the 2.0-litre motor is paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox, the 2.4L diesel engine is coupled to an eight-speed automatic motor driving the power to front wheels.
The 2400 cc Diesel model delivers a fuel economy of 19 kmpl, while the Petrol variant offers a mileage of 15.6 kmpl, respectively.
PERFORMANCE AND HANDLING
The 2.0L diesel unit attains 0-100kmph in less than 10 seconds, while the more powerful unit takes just 8 seconds to achieve 0-100kmph. Power is delivered in a continuous manner. There is a slight lag, which is negligible and NVH levels inside the cabin are excellent. Full of latest technology, the S60 sedan is one of the best handlers in its league.
